PAKISTAN BUDGET 2015-16; MIDDLE CLASS WILL BE THE MAJOR TAX PAYER!

June 05, 2015; Mr. Ishaq Dar presented the budget for the year 2015-16 after which many businessmen and organizations got benefit whereas and others were affected negatively. Tax Rates for Salaried persons reduced from 5% to 2% for ONLY POOR CLASS, whereas Middle Class was chosen to pay major percentage of tax. Instead of providing with more details, I would like to be more specific how “MIDDLE CLASS WILL BE THE MAJOR TAX PAYER FOR THE YEAR 2015-16.” According to John Parker’s statement “For the first time in History, more than half of the world is Middle Class”, which is considered to be the most important class in developing nations. This statement was also included in the article “Burgeoning Bourgeoisie” published by “The Economist”. Pakistan is one of those developing nations which has population of 1.8 Billion among which over half of the population belongs to middle class according to the facts and figures presented by Institute of Business Administration Karachi Pakistan in 2011. Now coming back to the budget 2015-16 for Pakistan presented by Mr. Ishaq Dar on 5th of June 2015, we have following Income Tax Slabs for Salaried Persons:

TAX SLABS FOR SALARIED PERSONS FOR THE YEAR 2015-16
Annual Income (Rs.) Tax Payable (Rs.)
Upto 400,000 NIL
400,000 500,000 2% of Amount exceeding 400,000
500,000 750,000 2,000 + 5% of Amount exceeding Rs. 500,000
750,000 1,400,000 14,500 + 10% of Amount exceeding Rs. 750,000
1,400,000 1,500,000 79,500 + 12.5% of Amount exceeding Rs. 1,400,000
1,500,000 1,800,000 92,000 + 15% of Amount exceedning Rs. 1,500,000
1,800,000 2,500,000 137,000 + 17.5% of Amount exceeding Rs. 1,800,000
2,500,000 3,000,000 259,500 + 20% of Amount exceeding Rs. 2,500,000
3,000,000 3,500,000 359,500 + 22.5% of Amount exceeding Rs. 3,000,000
3,500,000 4,000,000 472,000 + 25% of Amount exceeding Rs. 3,500,000
4,000,000 7,000,000 597,000 + 27.5% of Amount exceeding Rs. 4,000,000
7,000,000   More 1,422,000 + 30% of Amount exceeding Rs. 7,000,000
*    Senior Citizens (Aged 60+) have 50% Tax Rebate

Slab 3 & 4: Middle Class By distributing the tax slabs into the peoples’ classes, we realize that First slot comes under Lower-Lower Class (Poor Class) wehereas next slot comes under Upper-Lower Class (thanks to the government for decreasing the tax rate for Upper-Lower class). The most interesting part here is about Middle Class which belongs to the next two slabs of Income Tax, where, we can see that Lower-Middle Class of people are paying the tax of Upper-Lower class as well as 5% of the next slab. Adding 2% and 5%, we see that 7% tax is paid by Lower-Middle Class. Moving on, we have Upper-Middle Class paying 7% plus 10% a total of 17% Tax. The point which is important here is when we move from 2nd slab to 3rd slab, an increase of 3% in rate is admissible. Then moving from 3rd slab to 4rth slab, an increase of 5% is admissible. Compare with other slabs; see there is not more than 2.5% tax increase in any slabs as it is in these two slabs. Surprisingly, as a result, Middle Class is sacrificing more of its income than any other class of people living in Pakistan. Conclusion: So now we understand how Middle Class helps economies to grow and how much they sacrifice for the country. Any economy’s backbone is Middle Class which means, the development of a nation depends upon Middle Class. However, surprisingly, why Elite Class is not contributing in for development? The answer will require a detailed analysis of Elite Class and there is a strong need to enforce Elite Class to pay more taxes. If both Middle and Elite Class combine to pay tax, I am sure Pakistan will soon release her debt and we will rise as a developed nation in the near future. References:

The easiest way to save videos on Facebook

by on

Original Post here: http://www.ghacks.net/2015/04/08/the-easiest-way-to-save-videos-on-facebook/?_m=3n%2e0038%2e1572%2evh0ao03kwj%2e1mmt

Facebook is one of the largest video hosting and streaming sites on the Internet. It is held back somewhat by missing options to embed most videos on third-party websites (you can embed videos that you have uploaded but not videos by other users).

The company uses different technologies to serve video contents to Facebook users. By default, it is using Adobe Flash on most systems for that.

If you open this NBA video for instance on Facebook on a desktop system, Adobe Flash is required to play it in your browser of choice.

There is no automatic fallback to HTML5 video or an option to switch to the new standard instead.

While you could use download extensions to download the video in its original form from Facebook, there is an even easier option than that which may be sufficient for you.

Lets use this video url as an example: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153084880278463

All you have to do is the following:

  1. Replace the www part of the url with m. This would modify the example url to look like this: https://m.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153084880278463
  2. Right-click on the video and select the save video option displayed in the context menu.
  3. Select a location on your hard drive you want to save the video to.

That’s it.

facebook download video

The method should work on all videos on Facebook.

It loads the mobile version of Facebook instead even if you are not using a mobile device to access the site. Mobile videos are served using HTML5 video and not Adobe Flash which in turn enables the HTML5 video player on Facebook which displays the save video option in its right-click context menu.

There is one drawback to the method though: the video quality is reduced when you switch to the mobile site. The player itself does not allow you to change the quality and it is unclear if there is a parameter that you could add to the url itself to improve it.

For now, you seem to be stuck with the lower quality unfortunately.

Still, this is an elegant solution that may work, for instance when you watch those videos on your mobile phone or device and not the desktop.

How to download Windows 8.1 Enterprise Trial right now

You have probably already noticed that Microsoft has released the Windows 8.1 update a bit early today. All Windows 8 users can install the upgrade by visiting the built-in store of the operating system. That’s very convenient, even though it is not that different from distributing the update via Windows Update.

Installation via the store is just one of the options to upgrade to Windows 8.1. It is likely that Microsoft will make available ISO images of the operating system as well, but those are not yet available.

But what if you want to test the new version of Windows first before you make the plunge and upgrade your operating system to it?

Microsoft has released a trial version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise that you can install for that purpose.

Windows 8.1 Download

windows 8.1 enterprise download

You can download Windows 8.1 Enterprise from Microsoft’s TechNet Evaluation Center. Here are the most important requirements and information about it:

  • The evaluation version is provided as a 32-bit and 64-bit ISO image.
  • The following languages are available: English (United States), English (Great Britain), German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional).
  • You do need a Microsoft account to download the ISO image from the site.
  • The trial version is good for 90-days.

Hardware Requirements

  • CPU: 1 GHz processor or faster.
  • RAM: 1 Gigabyte (32-bit) or 2 Gigabyte (64-bit).
  • Hard Disk space: 16 Gigabyte (32-bit) or 20 Gigabyte (64-bit).
  • Graphics Card: DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

To download, select whether you want to download the 32-bit or 64-bit ISO image of Windows 8.1 and proceed. You are asked to sign in to your Microsoft account on the next page, and are taken to a form on the page thereafter.

Most fields are filled out automatically, but you need to make a couple of choices manually before you can start the download. Probably the most important choice is the language of the download. Make sure you pick the right language here and select data for the other fields that are not auto-filled.

If you prefer direct download links, here they are for the English version:

32-bit English Windows 8.1 Enterprise

64-bit English Windows 8.1 Enterprise

Note: The downloads may change at any time. Please notify us when that is the case so that we can correct the download links. They point to official Microsoft servers.

Windows 8.1 to be released officially on October 17

August 18, 2013 1 comment

You will have to wait another two months before you can install the final Windows 8.1 update on existing Windows 8 machines or buy computer systems that ship with it pre-installed. Many users expected Microsoft to release the update in August, but that was never more than a rumor.
Windows 8.1 will hit the market about a year after the official release of the Windows 8 operating system, and it will be free for existing users.

The update will be available for all Windows 8 users through the Windows Store on October 17th, and as a retail version starting October 18th. While not explicitly mentioned, it is likely that the update will also be made available as a standalone download.

Interested users can still download and install the Windows 8.1 Preview which provides them with some but not all of the new features that Microsoft has integrated in the update.

Some of the features that are already available are Internet Explorer 11, a revamped search behavior, a redesigned Windows Store, integrated cloud connectivity with SkyDrive or more personalization options.

Features that were not included in the preview are a new bunch of tutorials that help you understand how to operate Windows 8.1 new cues that help users find and use features in the operating system, or the new “motion accents” personalization feature that animates the background when you scroll on the start screen interface of the operating system.

windows 8.1 help

New features added after the Windows 8.1 Preview

  • Windows-X menu now with sign-out option.
  • New “motion accents” feature on start screen.
  • New tutorials, including screenshots, short textual explanations, animations or links to Internet contents.
  • Apps list extended.
  • Several core apps have received updates.
  • Tooltips in the lower right corner for additional options are displayed in many core Microsoft apps which shows more commands (similar to right-clicking on pages or using Windows-Z)
  • Assigned Access is back. Select a (user) account to have access to only one Windows Store app.
  • SkyDrive fully integrated in the system. You can now change the location of the SkyDrive folder on your hard drive.

The most likely scenario right now is that Microsoft will finish up testing of the operating system in August, get the RTM release of Windows 8.1 out soon thereafter and distribute it to OEMs and partners so that they can start integrating it into their products.

It is interesting to note that Microsoft may not make the RTM version available on MSDN or Technet soon after it is hitting RTM status. That’s however just a rumor at this time and not something that got confirmed by Microsoft yet.

If you want to get your hands on the update at the earliest possible – legal – moment, you may need to download and install it by visiting Windows Store.

Here is a video that highlights many of the changes of the latest Windows 8.1 build.

It is clear that Microsoft is addressing several of the issues that users of Windows 8 had with the operating system. Windows 8.1 attempts to provide users with additional visual cues and tutorials to understand features of the system.
